ChatGPT based language translation app in Slack

1. Add 'ChatGlobe' to your Slack workspace

2. Translate Desired Posts and Threads

Initial translate

  • Tag '@ChatGlobe' for the initial translation of your post or thread comment.

  • The result will show up on the thread, and anyone in the workspace will be able to view it.

In case you forgot to tag ChatGlobe, you can always 'Edit Message' to add the tag later or you can re-translate the message with ChatGlobe (see below).

Re-translate

  • Use the 're-translate' feature to translate other user's posts.

  • Click 'More actions' on the right corner of the post and find 'Translate a message'.

  • The result will show up on the thread, and anyone in the workspace will be able to view it.

You can re-translate already translated messages to get another version of the translation.

Translate for me

  • Use the 'translate for me' feature to view translations in private.

  • Click 'More actions' on the right corner of the post and find 'Translate for me only'.

  • The result will show up as a new post, and only you will be able to view it privately.

This feature can be very useful in the 'Connections' channels where you will be making conversations with partners and clients.

3. Change Settings

  • Find 'ChatGlobe' under 'Apps' on the left tab.

  • Click 'Home' to customize settings.

    • You can change the target language that ChatGlobe translates from the source language (English).

4. Check Usage

  • Type /usage in Slack message in any channel.

  • The plan information and current usage will show up as a new post, and only you will be able to view it privately.
